About Us
The Steamer Gallery is a 'bricks and mortar' gallery in Shanklin on the Isle of Wight which opened in 2019. We are located just off the main shopping centre of Regent Street and a short walk from the railway station. The gallery is owned and run by Adrian Rowe who was schooled on the Island and studied mechanical engineering at the University of Bath. In 2023 he left a career in industry to run the gallery full time.
Our Interests
Paintings
We are always interested in buying paintings by Deryck Foster, Cavendish Morton and Mervyn Pearson. All of our works are bought and owned by us in preference to selling works on commission. Not all of our works are on display in the gallery or shown on the website.
Isle of Wight Pottery (Samuel Saunders)
Samuel Saunders pottery (1926-1938) is marked 'Isle of Wight Pottery' to the base. The photograph shows 'First Period' wares which are currently on display in the gallery alongside others.
